About Me

ABOUT ME

I was 3 years old when my father Peter Demeter hired a hitman to murder my mother. I was home while it happened, a toddler watching television while my beautiful mother was bludgeoned to death in the garage of our family home. My father's trial would go on to become one of the most infamous in Canadian history. Every detail about the murder and my parents' relationship was published by the press and devoured by a public fascinated with the "Mississauga Murder".

I've never spoken honestly about what happened, but over the years people who know my story have asked, "Can you ever really get over something like that?"

The answer is No.

Although I was raised by a foster family who did everything they could to give me a wonderful childhood, I never felt safe. Or confident. Or whole. I write this not to elicit sympathy, but rather as one of the key contributing factors to what I would become in adulthood: an addict. As a young woman, I did everything possible to escape who I was and where I came from. Copious amounts of drugs. Lots of booze. A string of toxic relationships. I hit rock bottom more times than I can count. For many years I either couldn't remember what happened the night before, or worse, I could remember all too well.

It took me being declared an unfit mother to get help. Thanks to the 12 Step Alcoholics Anonymous program and a rigorous fitness regime combined with a lifestyle overhaul, I not only got clean but I got myself into the best shape I've ever been in. I learned to distance myself from a father who to this day sits in prison for the heinous crime he committed. I helped others overcome their addictions and in doing so finally found my calling. I learned how to be a present mother who enjoys an active life with her twin daughters.

Along the way I discovered Cannabidiol (CBD), the non-psycho active component in cannabis. I've experienced first hand the life changing effects of CBD Oil as it has helped me reduce my chronic pain and addictive impulses and inspire peace of mind.

Cannabis Therapy combined with a healthy lifestyle has also been a key element in allowing me to cope with the Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) I was diagnosed with in my 30s. The difference between the Andrea Demeter Scratch of today and the Andrea Demeter of my earlier years is that now I have the tools and knowledge to cope with the disorder and thrive in spite of it. I have spent the last four years working with Veterans with PTSD because though I have never known the horrors of war, I have gone through my own personal nightmare and come out on the other side a stronger and healthier person.

As well as my story, I would like to share my education and experiences with you. We all know that life can be challenging and it's easy to fall into unhealthy patterns. Let me help you find the path to achieving your goals through physical fitness, nutrition, coaching, cannabis therapy and benefit support. Let me lead, educate and support you in your journey to become the truest and best possible version of you.
